I’ve always been that lazy person. That person that just sat on her bed or couch all day and does nothing. I’ve never really experienced being busy or using my time in an efficient manner.
Well, things really changed this year. During the weekdays, I can’t sit still. I’m always on the go, always doing something. Sometimes I don’t even have time to eat a meal. And you know what? I like it. I really like always having something to do. Although worrying about the things I have to do aren’t fun, the process of doing them and finishing the tasks really makes me happy. I’m happy I’m doing something with my life.
But sometimes, it’s really nice to take a step back and enjoy the time you have to yourself. I did my laundry today and I got to the laundry room 5 minutes before my clothes were done. At first I was like, “ugh, 5 minutes of wasted time” but I sat down and took a deep breath and enjoyed those 5 minutes of silence. It sounds cheesy… but it was really relaxing just to sit there and appreciate those 5 minutes. I used to take time for granted, but yes, time is really precious. I’m glad I learned this because 1) I became more efficient and got things done and 2) I became a happier person overall by enjoying the time I have to myself and enjoying the time I spend with others.
